Rhino-Conservation-PilanesbergThis hands on adventure will focus on the efforts to protect the Rhino. You will view the darting, notching and implantation of a chip into the Rhino’s horn. Further to this, DNA dat is collected and submitted to the National DNA database.

The wild weekend POA:

Date: 25 – 27 July 2014

Arrival at Potokwane Camp Site – Pilanesberg on the Friday afternoon. Relax and socialise around the fire and braai. Early Saturday morning you will partake in the darting and notching of the Rhino. On Saturday afternoon, a talk will take place on Rhino conservation. The weekend will end with an informative guided bush walk in the beautiful Pilanesberg National Park on Sunday morning.

How much will all the wildness cost?

The cost of the activity is R2 900 per person. Please be assured that the revenue from this activity will go directly to the Counter Poaching Unit and the Pilanesberg Wildlife Trust. Limited space is available. Please book early to avoid disappointment. Proof of payment will secure your space on this educational weekend.

Walking on the wild side…

You will need your own camping equipment, food and drinks. Remember to bring comfortable bush clothing and walking shoes. Be aware that there is no electricity at Potokwane camp so please make sure you bring electricity-free lighting and refrigeration equipment. Nothing worse than a warm beer!
