The 10th Heritage Park Walk will take place from June 1st to June 7th 2015, with participants due to cover 105kms from Madikwe Game Reserve to Pilanesberg National Park, then ending at Lebatlane Community Reserve.

This annual event was conceptualised by the North West Parks and Tourism Board in 2003 and aims to connect people with nature and their heritage, as well as each other, creating and sustaining awareness and interest among affected local communities about the Heritage Park Project, which aims to link Pilanesberg with Madikwe, thus creating an important conservation corridor allowing wildlife to move freely between the two parks.

Every year, The Heritage Park Walk features a number of participants  from the affected local communites and looks to connect them with each other as well as increase interest in outdoor activities such as hiking and camping, and instill awareness about and a willingness to participate in nature conservation in the area.

The walk also ties in with World Environment Day on 5th June.

Participants must bring their own camping and hiking equipment. The closing date for registration is May 25th and the participation fee is R300.
