Looking for the perfect family and friend’s getaway? Nkala lodge is child friendly, exclusive-use and self-catering Lodge in the Black Rhino Game Reserve.
Home to the Big 5, the reserve forms part of the Pilanesberg National Park and offers 5 free-standing en-suite luxury suites that are available for exclusive-use bookings of up to 11 guests in total. This lodge means guests have access to a private game-drive vehicle and guide on request, as well as the fully equipped main lodge, that apart from top class appliances, also offers recreational facilities that include a swimming pool and jungle gym.
Nkala (meaning mongoose in Xitsonga) is privileged to have traversing rights to the whole Pilanesberg National Park, as well as their restricted wilderness area, established for the protection of the endangered black rhino.
Alternatively, spend a lazy afternoon or self-indulgent morning relaxing on the viewing deck while keeping an eye out for one of the elusive Big 5 coming to quench their thirst.
The deck is a fantastic treat for avid birders since the location is frequently visited by some of the 300-bird species known to the area – situated a mere 70 metres from the main lodge.

That’s wonderful. Surprisingly, ‘Nkala’ means ‘Crab’ in Swati. Judging from the pictures, it looks amazing!
